Composting, without the guesswork.

Compost-Flow® is a smart modular composting system designed to help gardeners and urban households compost more effectively. A structured sieve tray system with simple condition monitoring via a solar-powered sensor probe and a companion app Optional.

No more odours

Know when a tray is too wet before it starts to smell.

Fewer pests

A closed, structured unit keeps scraps contained and covered.

No failed batches

Clear alerts tell you when heat or moisture drifts out of range.

Fits small spaces

A compact vertical footprint for gardens, patios and balconies.

How it works

From kitchen scraps to finished compost, tray by tray.

STEP 1

Add waste at the top

Garden and food waste goes into the top tray. As it breaks down, it filters slowly through to the trays below.

STEP 2

Finer sieves as it falls

Each tray has smaller sieve holes than the one above, so material separates naturally as it decays.

STEP 3

The probe reads each tray

Place the Compo-Sense probe in a tray. It detects which tray it is in by RFID and records temperature and humidity.

STEP 4

The app tells you what to do Optional

CF-Connect shows the condition of every tray, sends alerts when something needs attention and offers guides and tips.

The system

Three parts, one connected system.

Each part works on its own. Together they take the uncertainty out of home composting.

The unit

Compost-Flow

A sieve-tray unit where garden waste filters down slowly as it decays, through trays with progressively smaller holes.

  • Stacked trays with graduated sieve holes
  • RFID tags embedded in trays 1 to 3
  • Hinged door for easy tray access

The probe

Compo-Sense

A moveable, solar-powered probe that tracks conditions inside each tray and shows readings on its display or syncs them to the app.

  • Temperature and humidity sensing
  • RFID reader detects which tray it is in
  • Solar powered, no batteries to swap

The app Optional

CF-Connect

The companion app the probe syncs to. It gives a clear view of every tray, alerts when action is needed, and step-by-step guidance.

  • Live status for each tray
  • Alerts for heat and moisture
  • Composting guides and tips
Tray-level monitoring

Every tray tells you how it's doing.

Because each tray carries its own RFID tag, the probe knows exactly where it is. Readings are logged against the right tray, so you can see each stage of decomposition at a glance.

Clear feedback, right on your phone.

See the stage of each composter, how long until it's ready, and which tray needs your attention.

About

Conor Groarke

Founder & designer

“I want to turn big ideas into tangible, meaningful products.”

I'm a Product Design graduate from Brunel University London with First Class Honours. I'm passionate about sustainable design and hands-on prototyping, and I enjoy working directly with materials, whether 3D printing, building in the workshop or refining a model by hand.

I like solving problems creatively and practically, and I'm always looking for ways to make products more intuitive, inclusive and responsible.
